We will focus on how we explore our own state of playfulness, touching upon the rich and multi-faceted viewpoint of the clown. We will seek to discover clown logic and stumble upon the wisdom of stupidity Participants will have opportunities to explore these elements and see how it can help to build stage presence and enhance connection with the audience. We will look at how the clown manifests through a range of games, exercises and structured improvisations This workshop is suitable for performers with or without previous experience of clowning. We will work in a supportive atmosphere. This is an experiential performance course, please wear loose comfortable clothing. Bob Percy has taught and performed clowning at the Circus Space in London and throughout the UK. He has directed and devised theatre pieces, using clowning techniques, for himself and others.
