| Norwich Puppet Theatre presents Family Workshop - rod marionette
With all materials provided you will create the basic puppet form - which will be a rod marionette (a combination of a Sicilian rod puppet and a string puppet in the style of those used in the Norwich Puppet Theatre production of Hansel and Gretel) ... and then it is time to get creative to give the puppet the character and costume of your desire. The workshop will run for 1½ hours and during the first part of the session all the family will work together under the guidance of the workshop leaders to make the basic 'skeleton' of the puppet. Then there is an opportunity for a short break - where refreshments may be purchased in the Puppet Theatre shop, or you can bring your own along. After the break it is free creativity time where the puppet's chararacter comes to life - with facial features, hands, legs, costume, accessories etc. All the materials are included in the price of the workshop.
