| Bob Percy presents The Clown in the Theatre
The clown has a wonder for the world, an openness and simplicity that is at once joyous and tragic - for they hide nothing of themselves and live in the moment. Alive to the truth of the moment, present with their own stupidity. Clown technique has been used in a wide variety of modern settings by a range of contemporary theatre practitioners. Every culture has its clowns, fools and tricksters. This course will begin to explore what the clown is and how we can use the clown in various theatrical settings. We will set out to discover our own ‘clown-ness' and how to access that state of being in performance. These are experiential performance courses, please wear loose comfortable clothing. We will work in a supportive atmosphere. For those who attend the one day Clown and Play workshop on 28 February this will be an ideal follow on. The course will run from 20 April to 1 June (18 May session is a homework night) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
