Workshops and Education

Workshops
If you are 5 or over, then why not come along to the Puppet Theatre and join in the fun of making a puppet?

Each session is themed to a particular type of puppet – ranging from rod puppet to marionette, Bunraku, glove and many more besides. If you are not sure what some of these words mean then look at the Programme section of the website where each workshop has a short description about the puppet you will make.

Guided by the workshop leader you make the basic puppet form and then you are free to give the puppet the style, character and decoration you want with the wide range of materials provided. At the end you will have a puppet to take home with you!

Workshop sessions last for 1½ hours with a short break midway for a snack or a drink. These can be purchased from our shop or you can bring your own.

Look out for the workshops for older children, double-session workshops and also the adult puppet-making workshops.

Each workshop has a maximum of 20 participants, so be sure to book early to ensure your place.
